Copper Mountain Planned Unit Development Work Session

The Summit County Board of County Commissioners met this past week to discuss changes to the Copper PUD. Copper hopes to reallocate 591 units of unbuilt density to other areas of the resort. They are also planning to build a high-rise hotel on the Chapel Lot very close to the center village. They are also hoping to re-allocate 86,000 square feet of commercial space and eliminate 45,000 square feet of commercial space. The new proposal would also increase open space from 27.7 acres to 55.1 acres. The current timeline is to bring the proposal back in front of the board for approval in early 2008.
